Farewell

Rev. Manuel Rosiles, MSpS

I am reaching out to you through this means because of the circumstances I am gong through.

As you know, my ministry in Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish is coming to an end.  Once again, I want to thank each and everyone of you for allowing me to be part of this wonderful community these last four years. Now, the Lord has sent me to minister to another parish in the state of Washington.

This last weekend I announced that tomorrow, Saturday 20th, there would be a ‘drive-thru’ parade in the parking lot of the parish so that we could express our goodbyes.  Unfortunately, this has to be cancelled.  Some of you already know that one of my nephews passed away yesterday, June 18th, in Illinois.  I flew to Illinois to be with my brother and my family during this challenging time.   This is the reason why I will not be in Oxnard tomorrow.

Obviously, this is not the way I would have chosen to say goodbye to you, but you know that many times reality and circumstances is what marks what we can and what we can’t do.

I thank each of you for everything.  I know some of you had planned to be there tomorrow but this will not happen.  I also know that you will understand and respect the space my family and I need at this time.  I have always known that you are such a generous community, and because of this I ask you for one last favor: please continue to pray for the repose of the soul of my nephew Abel whom I loved so much, pray also for his parents and his two sisters.  And finally, pray that the Lord may give my whole family the peace and comfort we need during this time.

May the Lord bless you all!
